Here’s a great scale exercise that helps us learn the fretboard, see new octave patterns and of course see our scale shapes even better.

Octaves are the same note just either higher or lower in pitch much like how your low E and High E are both E’s, but one’s higher and one’s lower! The “8th” Interval idea is just taking our other intervals and choosing what the interval of the octave is, which is just going up 8 notes of our scale.
