CAGED Arpeggio’s use our chord shapes as a basis to connect a single arpeggio all over the neck. Utilizing and getting familiar with these shapes help us know the fretboard… not memorize it! It’s very important to always start and end on the root note! Also, the fingerings are up for interpretation, so experiment with different fingering options to see what works best for you.
To connect the shapes:
Cm Shape’s 4th finger is A Shape’s 1st finger
Am Shape’s 3rd and 4th finger is Gm Shape’s 1st finger barred
Gm Shape’s 4th finger is Em Shape’s 1st finger
Em Shape’s 4th finger is Dm Shape’s 1st finger
Dm Shape’s 3rd and 4th finger is Cm Shape’s 1st and 2nd fingers
