Where To Begin?!
If you take a look at my free lessons it might seem a little daunting at first. Luckily I wrote a couple of blogs that should help navigate the site depending on your skill level. Take a peak at these if you’re unsure of where to begin!
Not only do I talk about which videos/concepts might be relevant I also outline what I think a Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced skill set is.
…anyways, now onto a bit about the site.
My name is Garret Schmittling and I am an independent performer and an online guitar teacher. I have been teaching since 2005 and have had the pleasure of working with a wide range of students; young to old, beginner to advanced and everything in between. I have worked with a multitude of artists, in a wide variety of genres and have played numerous events. My goal is to teach you what you need to know to be the best guitar player and musician you can be. With a little bit of patience, dedication and hard work everyone can become as good as they want to be.
Now, I know there’s a lot of information out there, but my site is very concise with the information I give and how I present it. I am in the midst of making numerous free video lessons so check back often. They will be ranging from beginner to advanced, from theory concepts to individual songs. There’s a formula to the madness and with each video hopefully the chaos will become clear.
Even though I have all this information on my site and and there’s all the lessons throughout youtube, there’s nothing that replaces the one on one learning environment. I have a few different options on personalized lessons. From specific lesson plans to song arrangement videos, I’m here to help in any way I can. More information can be found on my Live Lessons page.
Oh, and also… there’s no harm in supporting the site if you feel like you are able to. Supporting the site can help fund more video lessons and ways to learn. There’s a lot of time and effort put into this one man operation and any amount can assure that more videos can be made and more often. No amount is too small or too large.
