Ever hear some of those really cool chromatic lines and aren’t sure how to implement them? Here are a couple examples of ways to get those sounds. I find it easier to relate everything to chord shapes, so if me talking about “chord tones” scares you, just remember, the 5th of the chord in an A minor shape (5th string minor barre chord) is always going to be on the 1st and 4th string… regardless of what chord you’re playing over. This is a static Dm7 groove. Dorian is a great mode to play over minor vamps. Let me know what you come up with!
