Here’s a great standard in 3, “Bluessette”! I use these as an example of putting some of our extended chords and inversions to use.

The main rule for these chords are major types can be substituted for major types, dominant types (and even some diminished types!) can be substituted for dominant types and minor types can be substituted for minor types!

The chords are:
Bbmaj7 – Bmaj7 – Am7b5 – D7b9
Gm7 – D7 – Fm7 – Bb7
Ebmaj7 – Ebmaj7 – Ebm7 – Ab7
Dbmaj7 – Dbmaj7 – C#m7 – F#7
Bmaj7 – Bmaj7 – Cm7 – F7
Dm7 – Db7 – Cm7 – F7
