This lesson is meant to inspire as much as go through concrete examples of picking patterns. I’m indifferent on whether you use a pick or finger pick for these but the idea is to create a pattern that moves between the chords that our ears can “latch” onto.

Most of this is built off of my Finger Picking Lesson and Rhythm Lesson linked below and just trying out different combinations of them both.

I chose C – Dm – G – C as constant chords to go between the examples because of their varying root notes. Be sure to remember to skip the 5th string on 6th string root chords (G, E, Em)!
