Here it is… the solo to “Wind Cries Mary”. He treats each chord as it’s own thing… heavily borrowed from the “Hendrix Style of Rhythm Playing” that I went through before. Since what he’s doing comes from the chords he’s playing over… here’s that chord progression:

F.Eb – Bb. Ab x3
G – Bb – Db – F – F

So what does he do? For the first three phrases, he hangs in F. Then when the G Chord comes, he moves to G! Bb chord? You guessed it moves to Bb. Db? Yup! Moves to Db again… this time he goes for a bluesy minor pentatonic riff. Then he ends it in F, because the last two measures are F! Dig.
