Here’s a great way to break up your Pentatonic Shapes! The basic idea is to play the notes on one string, skip the string right next to it and play the two notes on the string after that. Then go back to the string you skip and repeat the process!

Example: Play the two notes on the 5th string – skip the 4th string – then play the two notes on the 3rd string. Then go back to the 4th string and play the two notes – skip the 3rd string – then play the two notes on the 2nd string. Then repeat!

It’s a great way to really visualize the entire shape… and even a cool pattern to throw into solos. Dig!
